I believe this is when the filmmakers cue up Sabotage….

One day only! Get my first novel for 99 cents!

Through Wednesday, August 5, The Reluctant Incubus**,** Book One of Alvin Alonso’s Secret Files, is 99 cents instead of its usual $5.99. This is the first time I’ve discounted either novel since they came out in November. But I passionately believe in this story, and for anyone on the fence, I suspect that a dollar is an easier “sure, why not” than six. So if you’ve been curious, now’s a great time to dive in.

Here’s the story: Alvin Alonso is a timid incubus who’s never fed on a soul, and when he’s forced to steal a magical artifact, he finds a handsome spirit imprisoned inside worth risking everything for. What starts as one bad job spirals fast, and by the end of the second book, all of San Francisco is facing a vampire apocalypse—with only Alvin and the man he’s fallen for standing in the way. Think The Dresden Files meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but full of queer joy, with a scrappy, lovable monster as the hero. (Chapter One is free to read here if you want a taste first.)

A couple quick details: the 99-cent price runs on the Amazon US store only, and it climbs back automatically Thursday morning—so you have through Wednesday, August 5.

Book One ends on a cliffhanger—but the good news is you don’t have to wait. The conclusion, Incubus Vampire Slayer, is out now. It’s not part of the sale, but you can go straight from one to the other and binge through to Alvin’s very satisfying ending.

It looks like Cory has been pushed too far. Finally!

Will he have the power to turn the tables on these Gorilla Soldiers?
