The Young Protectors: Double-Cross Chapter Three—Page 42

Original comic page at: https://youngprotectors.com/typ3/doublecross-ch3-page-42/

Space-time. Schmace-time. Am I right?

In my first draft of the script, I spent a couple full pages where our heroes talked about Spooky’s relationship with the college newspaper reporter he saved, and why the media (and Flyboy) thought there was more that went on between them. But it’s obviously not super-relevant to this scene or Flyboy/Spooky’s relationship — these two are sharing plenty of personal stuff already — so it was one of the first things I cut in the second draft. But maybe someday we’ll find out more about that.

Please note: These are work-in-progress colors. Vero should get me the final colors soon.

So!

So! Teen Spooky is wise to Ambrosia’s tricks! (Or, at least, he thinks he is!) And Flyboy is relieved.

But what is this thing that Flyboy thinks he needs to get off his chest now? And how would it be bad for the space-time continuum?

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there!

I’m not sure. Either the fact that Spooky loses some time, or maybe whatever happens to Cassidy?

Whoa! Uh, what? Alex!! I hate cliffhangers!

My bet it’s about whatever happened to Cassidy. Whatever it was, even Cory knew about it, so it must’ve been a big news item at the time. And if Mitch tells Spooky all about it, Spooky of course is going to try to save Cassidy.

Like, we’ve all seen the episode of Star Trek, The City on the Edge of Forever where Kirk has to let Edith Keeler die to preserve history… but that was a television show, and for Spooky, Cassidy is a real person, his friend and co-worker. He’s gonna save Cassidy, the time-space continuum be damned.

So, it’s like no wonder Mitch is being a little hesitant about this. Mitch is inclined to break the rules to save people too, but he also has a better idea of how dangerous a changed timeline could be.

His T-Shirt. Mitch has been dying to get his T-shirt off his chest. He’d rather be snuggling in his boxers only.

anyway… yum tasty plot? also I like spooks’ lil smile to Mitch’s tripping over himself in panel 5, like “nah man it’s cool I get it”

Both good theories.

I like this theory.

Very good point, David.

Ummm…

I’m glad you like that.

(And yes, you should totally re-read and live blog your responses in the comments. I love that!)
