So it is not automatic that everything Mitch touches while flying flies with him. Is it his choice, or is it because he hit those zombies at high speed? Can he safely pick Spooky up without slowing Down?

He has said in one of the early bits that he has to “believe” that everything he touches wants to be with him or lifted by him or some such when he went into the Cory meltdown tornado.
